Not in the game but the team itself. So many players who don’t help us in any way. Such a collectively low basketball IQ team. This team needs a huge make over right now. The Kings are not ok by any means right now. We need to make some huge changes fast or we’re looking at more years of failure. This rebuilding project is a failure so far. We’ve yet to make any improvements. I’m tired of being ridiculed for being a Kings fan. Shit needs to change.
We just made the coaching change which will put our current players in a different light
GP was gathering players for a PW ‘system’. Now he will gather for a Smart system. After 20 games of the new guy we will be able to what see more precisely what we need because we will now in fact be able to define rolls and gather players to fill those rolls. SF is priority #1 IMO.
We just arent flowing well. We gotta run more plays, better plays, and everyone has to do it right. We are playing too tight and too sloppy and too slow.
J. Salmons -18
J.J. Hickson -14
D. Cousins -16
J. Fredette -14

Pretty sure that ain’t gonna cut it.
We might have all the talent in the world, but it’s pretty obvious the pieces don’t compliment each other. I love the Kings, but I hate this team.
Wait, didn't you predict the 76ers would thump us? This is kind of expected
Disappointing and hard to watch, but not unexpected. New coach. Missing MT23. One the road against one of the best regular season teams. Great D, disciplined O.
This stinks, but more livable than the games earlier in the season.
It’s bad for your health. Every minute of Kings basketball you watch is one minute out of your lifespan. I recommend flipping over to MTV. That 70’s Show will make any Kings fan forget about their crappy ass team
For some reason we just get in slumps where we don’t get anything and the other team makes every shot…we are shooting like 13% they are shooting around 85% WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh you mean JT who has best FG% on the team, Third highest scorer tonight, Isaiah who is a rookie and has barely had 20 minutes so far this year…Put down the pipe
Basically to beat the kings..go on a 5-0 run..and the kings will start missing literally everything and play no defense, allowing you to blow them out by 40points.
that the Magic game was so close BECAUSE Dwight was in foul trouble the whole game? I think actually hoping beat them with him out is kinda pushing our luck
Peaches had it right when he said the fans are tired. They’ve used this excuse of rebuilding to cover for mediocrity for too long, and now we’re truly just mediocre.
Our defense can really look bad seeing as how our guards can’t keep their man from penetrating and we don’t have a shot blocker down low to make up for our terrible perimeter D.
On the flip side, we have terrible TERRIBLE 3 point shooters (aside from MT23) on a primarily dribble-drive offense which lives or dies by the 3 point shot…
I get the feeling Petrie will make some moves here in the next couple days.
or at the very least… the floor spacing that he can give us even on a bad shooting night. Not to mention his perimeter D is probably the best we have from the guard, small forward position on a consistent basis (unless Tyreke really tries).
I still say winning always starts with D, though. Offense will come.
Now, we’re solely an offensive team—who doesn’t care about D—without any consistent offense = FUGLY.
Also, we’re not good enough to not have a PG on the team (who doesn’t have significant liabilities). Got to have somebody who can take control of this crap offense and orchestrate, someone who can play smart and preferably not turn the ball over. One of the PFs has to go for a proven guard. We can’t wait for Jimmer and Isiah to develop—while DMC (and other players’) attitudes worsen, if that’s possible, from all the blowouts.
I had no idea we would be this deficient though. Even with Hayes, we were getting carved up inside by every decent team. We gotta start with D.
Other teams must love padding their stats against us.
Outlaw is not very good; and Donte doesn’t seem to have the work ethic or toughness to make the best of his skills and be consistent. Nice guy, but how long do you wait for him to do something. Don’t think he’s going to suddenly turn into Gerald Wallace.
I am now convinced that we will end up with the worse record in the league. I think we all know the worst team almost never gets the first pick which just adds to the depression. Rebuilding for 7 years and we have managed to pick up a little young talent and become the worst team in the league. Very young players who obviously don’t by into defense or running actual plays. IMO we need to clean house of everything including Geoff Petrie. if i had my way i would also make the Magoofs sell the team. Young talent means nothing when they do what they want and don’t by in to a team concept. Going to be one of the most depressing seasons i have ever seen.
I was thinking the same thing about Geoff. Then I remembered who has has the absolute displeasure of working for and I calmed down. I honestly feel this is ALL the Maloofs fault.
The Maloof brothers have proven over the years that they have absolutely no business owning a professional sports franchise. How do you have the lowest payroll in the league and not go out and shake things up, either via trade or free agency!? They are the epitome of why I hate LA people. All show and no go!
Pretty sure that the rookies are lost BECAUSE the other guys are ego centered ballhogs...
They only pass the ball to jimmer when there’s like 4 seconds on the clock so of course he has to shoot off balance. This team needs to build trust in one another and think TEAM first. When Jimmer tried to do that everyone harped on him to just shoot it… How’s THAT working out?! Ugh.
Everyone on the team is a one man show while whoever has the ball shoots a jumper or drives into double triple coverage and jacks up an impossible shot. Not one coach in this league who could make these guys play any better
This team has too many gunners not enough roleplayers
Jimmer, Hickson, Salmons, Outlaw, IT… You can’t use these guys as roleplayers around Reke/Thornton/Cousins. We need more Cisco, Donte, Thompson types on the roster
Is it me or do we get absolutely nothing from the small forward spot? Salmons only real contribution is scoring and he is doing a horrible job of that. He starts and does nothing. Seems like after 5 years of developing Donte he is still in a developmental stage? With his tools and size he should be dominating but he is still too raw. After 4 years of development.
just has no offensive game, period. He can only spot up shoot and hes not a good shooter. He can do anything off the dribble, he just doesnt have NBA skills for a 3
Eh.... we are without our best scorer and defender.
I mean what did you guys expect to happen really? We already know Salmons and Outlaw can’t shoot, Tyreke can’t pass, etc. Just look at the rest of the teams in the league, they are without a doubt better then us. This will be another lottery pick year and if we are lucky… the balls will fall our way and we can end up with a stud point guard or small forward.
Worst offense in the league, coupled witlh the worst defensive team in the league, you ain’t gonna win many games people. If you want to shake it up bring in a new gm.
But no need to over react. Young teams will lose games like these. Our last two were very competitive. Philly is a very, very good team this year. Mentioned this earlier, but on the road without MT23 and Hayes and having 1 practice with our new coach is a bad formula.
Tonight sucked to watch, but is the kind of blowout that will happen with a young team. Not nearly as bad as the stinkers from earlier in the season. Drink a beer and relax.
Tomorrow we play a beatable Raptors team and if we win we ware .500 in the Smart era.
The players are playin’…not Maloof, Petrie, Westphal or Smart. Playing cohesively they have a chance…but it takes timetimetime. Give ’em some.
I for one will accept any line up that plays HARD, and improves
Ive watched 98 percent of Kings games since 1997 or so. After all those playoff years, to see rebuilding continually stymied like this. Continually taking one step forward, three steps back.
Kings fans can take a lot and still give. But selfishness, lack of energy, lack of basketball IQ, lack of D—lack of actually playing team ball is hard to stomach.
This was not the year to have one of our all-time most dysfunctional squads, Petrie.
“I want to get back badly. I just don’t know. The direction the NBA’s going, it seems like they just want to get young ex-players and if you look around the league, there’s not a lot of older coaches anymore. ‘Pop’ [Gregg Popovich] and maybe [Rick] Adelman, but most of these guys are younger, so I don’t know if I fit that mold, but I still believe that I have something to offer

Jimmer’s wide open..To throw up another brick like Salmons and Outlaw..Or to hold onto it for 20 seconds
Widowwolf - January 10, 2012
Jimmer NEEDS to be stronger with the ball
he gets stripped entirely too much.
mdotbrown - January 10, 2012
Flagrant on The Jimmer?!
Reke_Havoc13 - January 10, 2012
Actually, that would have been great if it had been.
Slam_Dunk - January 10, 2012
Why?
raiderking21 - January 10, 2012
NVM it was on DMC
Reke_Havoc13 - January 10, 2012
I know
My question is directed toward Salm_Dunk
raiderking21 - January 10, 2012
When do we play Washington?
nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012
They're up 19 on the Raptors. Looks like they're going to get their first win
Reke_Havoc13 - January 10, 2012

ridingthebench - January 10, 2012
I forgot, but can someone remind me
why we picked up Outlaw off waivers?
nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012
Westie having a good laugh right now!
nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012
We really lack scoring without MT23
or at the very least… the floor spacing that he can give us even on a bad shooting night. Not to mention his perimeter D is probably the best we have from the guard, small forward position on a consistent basis (unless Tyreke really tries).
ridingthebench - January 10, 2012
Defense gives a team pride and energy.
VirginiaBlue - January 10, 2012
I meant one of the 3s or 4s has to go, immediately, for a PG.
VirginiaBlue - January 10, 2012
z
Wow finally hit something..Great job Jimmer
Widowwolf - January 10, 2012
Yes!!!! Jimmer's 3point is the best thing to happen in this game.
Slam_Dunk - January 10, 2012
Jimmer needs a lot of help with his confidence. He looks like he is lost out there.
Bill2 - January 10, 2012

Got free big macs at 100 points. Kings are officially a joke.
HarveySpecter - January 10, 2012 via Android app
Can someone explain to me
what good Salmons, Outlaw and Greene are? Combined 3 of 18 and 0fer from 3…
SayWhat? - January 10, 2012
Our biggest weakness on the team
nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012
I can't.
That is one for Petrie.
Slam_Dunk - January 10, 2012
Green Salmons should be Outlawed.
Bill2 - January 10, 2012
Salmons doesn't want to be on this team.
Outlaw is not very good; and Donte doesn’t seem to have the work ethic or toughness to make the best of his skills and be consistent. Nice guy, but how long do you wait for him to do something. Don’t think he’s going to suddenly turn into Gerald Wallace.
VirginiaBlue - January 10, 2012
Donte had been given more than enough chances
I’m not sure how long he’s going to make it in this league.
nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012
He still has a chance
Not great though
raiderking21 - January 10, 2012
I would rather have Donte
than Outlaw, Salmons, and JJ
Biscuit - January 10, 2012
I would rather have Donte
than Outlaw, Salmons..JJ isnt nearly as bad as any of those guys
Widowwolf - January 10, 2012
Outlaw for sure,
Salmon’s maybe, but not Hickson. And, that ain’t saying much!

he made to many of his shots
Beagle12 - January 10, 2012
Salmons needed his 33 minutes
OKO - January 10, 2012
Because Outlaw is just getting ready to breakout
Pdidd - January 10, 2012
Can we trade Outlaw, or does picking him up from waivers not allow us to do so?
Subcon - January 10, 2012
Amnesty rules say we can't
raiderking21 - January 10, 2012
For the length of his contract?
Or is this a 1 year deal?
nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012
Not sure
I know we can’t trade him this year, but not sure beyond that
raiderking21 - January 10, 2012
Pretty sure we hav him for four years
Not trying to scare the shit out of you either. We have him for 4 years
SoCal Diplomat - January 10, 2012

nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012

OKO - January 10, 2012

raiderking21 - January 10, 2012
Wow
I am now convinced that we will end up with the worse record in the league. I think we all know the worst team almost never gets the first pick which just adds to the depression. Rebuilding for 7 years and we have managed to pick up a little young talent and become the worst team in the league. Very young players who obviously don’t by into defense or running actual plays. IMO we need to clean house of everything including Geoff Petrie. if i had my way i would also make the Magoofs sell the team. Young talent means nothing when they do what they want and don’t by in to a team concept. Going to be one of the most depressing seasons i have ever seen.
Ninerking - January 10, 2012
So it'll be just like the last 5 seasons then...
we’re used to it at least.
DiegoKing - January 10, 2012
Ninerking
I was thinking the same thing about Geoff. Then I remembered who has has the absolute displeasure of working for and I calmed down. I honestly feel this is ALL the Maloofs fault.
The Maloof brothers have proven over the years that they have absolutely no business owning a professional sports franchise. How do you have the lowest payroll in the league and not go out and shake things up, either via trade or free agency!? They are the epitome of why I hate LA people. All show and no go!
Dirkula - January 10, 2012
Pretty sure that the rookies are lost BECAUSE the other guys are ego centered ballhogs...
They only pass the ball to jimmer when there’s like 4 seconds on the clock so of course he has to shoot off balance. This team needs to build trust in one another and think TEAM first. When Jimmer tried to do that everyone harped on him to just shoot it… How’s THAT working out?! Ugh.
haglnuts - January 10, 2012
Don't misunderestimate Washington
Or our neighbors to the North, who are getting blown out by the other worst team in the league.
Olde Greg - January 10, 2012
Ok
WTF does

Donte > Salmons
Biscuit - January 10, 2012
And Donte is terrible.
What does that say about Salmons? Better yet, what does that say about our team?
ridingthebench - January 10, 2012
That the SF position is weak
raiderking21 - January 10, 2012
That Salmons is more interested in collecting his paycheck than he is playing.
Slam_Dunk - January 10, 2012
I could go for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich right now.
I need the grease to clog up my pain.
Subcon - January 10, 2012
Everyone on the team is a one man show while whoever has the ball shoots a jumper or drives into double triple coverage and jacks up an impossible shot. Not one coach in this league who could make these guys play any better
Ninerking - January 10, 2012
z
At least that was a good way to end with with a Donte Dunk
Widowwolf - January 10, 2012

DiegoKing - January 10, 2012
This team has too many gunners not enough roleplayers
Jimmer, Hickson, Salmons, Outlaw, IT… You can’t use these guys as roleplayers around Reke/Thornton/Cousins. We need more Cisco, Donte, Thompson types on the roster
Scirocco - January 10, 2012
Salmons, Outlaw, Garcia, Greene
has to be the worst 1-4 at SF in the league, at least they make the league minimum, oh wait, about 20 million
OKO - January 10, 2012
SF non existent
Is it me or do we get absolutely nothing from the small forward spot? Salmons only real contribution is scoring and he is doing a horrible job of that. He starts and does nothing. Seems like after 5 years of developing Donte he is still in a developmental stage? With his tools and size he should be dominating but he is still too raw. After 4 years of development.
Ninerking - January 10, 2012
Still our weakest position by far
raiderking21 - January 10, 2012
Donte
just has no offensive game, period. He can only spot up shoot and hes not a good shooter. He can do anything off the dribble, he just doesnt have NBA skills for a 3
OKO - January 10, 2012
we need Harrison Barnes!
Jimmered. - January 10, 2012
We need Kirilenko…They should have Kept Beno and went after just Hayes and Kirilenko in the offseason
Widowwolf - January 10, 2012
LEADERSHIP!
This team is lacking it so badly!
Petrie, please, please, please get a few veterans to teach these boys how to play!
Dirkula - January 10, 2012
Like Salmons and Outlaw?
Widowwolf - January 10, 2012
Salmons is not a leader.
Hes a veteran sure, but he doesn’t say much and nobody will listen to him the way he plays.
ridingthebench - January 10, 2012
Chasm
Widowwolf - January 10, 2012
No.
We brought Salmons and Hayes here because of their “leadership”. Leadership is an overrated quality. What we need are smart, selfless players.
SoCal Diplomat - January 10, 2012
What!?
Ok, now I’ve heard it all
Dirkula - January 10, 2012
We had one
His name was beno
sacman - January 10, 2012
Salmons is not much of a leader. He was always quiet.
Your best players have to lead. Our best players right now are Reke and DMC.
One only knows how to play selfish ball, the other one blames everyone else for everything and has the worst attitude in NBA.
VirginiaBlue - January 10, 2012
BENO
Was a veteran who actually showed leadership qualities. He was also our best point guard. Why we traded him I will never know.
ridingthebench - January 10, 2012
Eh.... we are without our best scorer and defender.
I mean what did you guys expect to happen really? We already know Salmons and Outlaw can’t shoot, Tyreke can’t pass, etc. Just look at the rest of the teams in the league, they are without a doubt better then us. This will be another lottery pick year and if we are lucky… the balls will fall our way and we can end up with a stud point guard or small forward.
ridingthebench - January 10, 2012
Turrible
nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012
So far this year 76ers have the most efficient offense
that being said holy shit 30 assist to 10 turnovers

JRayWRX - January 10, 2012
just being silly and sarcastic, sorry.
DiegoKing - January 10, 2012
Look
Worst offense in the league, coupled witlh the worst defensive team in the league, you ain’t gonna win many games people. If you want to shake it up bring in a new gm.
sacman - January 10, 2012
Bad loss
But no need to over react. Young teams will lose games like these. Our last two were very competitive. Philly is a very, very good team this year. Mentioned this earlier, but on the road without MT23 and Hayes and having 1 practice with our new coach is a bad formula.
Tonight sucked to watch, but is the kind of blowout that will happen with a young team. Not nearly as bad as the stinkers from earlier in the season. Drink a beer and relax.
Tomorrow we play a beatable Raptors team and if we win we ware .500 in the Smart era.

DiegoKing - January 10, 2012
I understand all the frustration.
VirginiaBlue - January 10, 2012
I guess the Home in Hermosa Beach will come in handy
nothingbutnet - January 10, 2012
Well from the sounds of it, at least you're conditioned for this type of a year.
Same here….although I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan too. Totally used to rooting for a loser.
DiegoKing - January 10, 2012
Hey, we don't have anything on Cleveland.
