The Kings have announced that Marcus Thornton will sit again on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors. Thornton missed Tuesday's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers with a thigh contusion. Jimmer Fredette started in Thornton's place on Tuesday, and that'd be expected to be the decision again.
Thornton is the team's leading per-game scorer, and Sacramento definitely missed his shot creation abilities on the perimeter against Philly. In the start Tuesday, Jimmer went just 2-7 with three assists and three turnovers, and took only two three-pointers. If Thornton isn't playing and Jimmer isn't taking threes, the Kings really aren't going to do much from beyond the arc. And so it was: Sacramento was 4-19 from long-range on Tuesday, with John Salmons going 0-6.
Isaiah Thomas and Francisco Garcia each played 26 minutes with Thornton out on Tuesday, but at least for Cold Blooded, part of that was the margin in the second half. Evans only played 25 minutes because it became a blowout early in the third.

Alright... this is it.
Reke needs to slash and dish to Jimmer for the open 3. Please… for the love of Buddha let this happen tonight.
haglnuts - January 11, 2012
Damn, we needed lil Buckets too.
Jimmer better not leave his feet tonight to make a pass or I will cuss loudly.
DiegoKing - January 11, 2012
Damn we need Big Buckets
In limited minutes Donte has a better FG% and 3P% than Outlaw, Garcia and Salmons. He’s got 60% of Outlaws Points and 45% of his Rebounds in 30% of his minutes. Donte has 1 more point and 1 less rebound than Garcia, in 29 fewer minutes.
Even if we don’t use him as a stretch 4 to guard Bargnani, I think we should give him some extended minutes at the 3 while Garcia is backing up Thornton. Forty minutes in 7 games isn’t enough to see whether he’s progressed during the Lockout. And, quite frankly, even if he hasn’t, I don’t think he can do much worse than the ones we’re playing now.

"In limited minutes" - exactly right
Sorry, I’ll trust his history of play over his other 3500 or so minutes.
I suspect we’ve seen the occasional 40 minutes of solid play from him before.
otis29 - January 11, 2012
Give him 1 more chance Otis.
How can you be so heartless?!
Shizzo - January 11, 2012
I do like him as a person, so....
Nah, can’t do it!
otis29 - January 11, 2012
Now that we have you leaving the Dark Side for the Cuz Zone
We’ll have to start working on you to move to the Donte Domain.
HighTops - January 11, 2012
Jimmer seriously needs to score in this game. Its been too long now…he has to start scoring
CousinsEvansDUO - January 11, 2012
Jimmer

At the point were I don't care about wins or losses
This team doesn’t have the fire power to score 90 points in a competitive game most nights. Forget the season, lets just focus on individual player development.
I want Tyreke to take every open jumper given to him until he gains the confidence and knowledge on how he wants to use it.
I want Demarcus to work on his offensive and defensive post game. Needs more help on defense.
I want Jimmer to gun it and learn how to run the offense in some set plays.
Everything else I could care less.

less dribbling more shooting
I’m sick of all the pump fake and driving into a crowded lane . When someone gets a wide open look they need to shoot it unless its Salmons who is 0/17 3pt attempts. I can’t believe he is still starting time to start anyone else but him. His d isn’t that great at the 3 either.
WE NEED A DEFENSIVE MINDED CENTER - January 11, 2012
0/17 on his last 3pt attempts i meant to say

Here's to Garcia getting up-to-speed
Somehow I still have a lot more faith in him than most.

CousinsEvansDUO - January 11, 2012

A thigh bruise? Really?
This is one of the only winnable games we have. We need MT23!
Allbenji - January 11, 2012 via mobile
