The Grant and Jerry sign-off

I can feel the tears well-up and the show has just begun.

i got footage of that from behind them

that being said it was on my ipod so its not that great qbut never the less i have it . like 30 seconds http://youtu.be/0nV2OLcUBec

Love the hair in all the old footage
David Stern was so young
God I hope the people of our region

Watch this and understand the stakes involved…

Watching Grant and Jerry cry

Is making me cry all over again.

Is it me or does the G-Man look younger in his interview?
IRS the lighting.
It's even.
I'd forgotten how large Gregg Lukenbill's head is.
dear lord that "arena" was so damb dinky
Thanks for watching guys, I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you. You know we will.
we're watching your baby grow up!
You are so, so welcome.

Thank you for making it for us to watch.

Well done Sir,

well done!

Thank you for everything

Your pride and dedication to this community and region is something we can all aspire to.

It was fantastic.

I even saw myself in one still photo in the background.

cough cough anyone know of a stream to this? cough cough

do you not live in the greater Sacramento area?
what's up with the Horry shot framed in the background?
I was thinking the same thing

that picture keeps buggin me. I dont even want to look at it but my eye keeps goin to it

It was the only picture we could find in the building...

that wasn’t screwed into the wall.

Should've burned it.

;)

amen i cant stop thinking about that
Breton talks better than he writes
not knocking his writing

just find it more interesting in this format

He sounds about the same to me

But I like him as a writer. I may not agree with his opinions all the time but I appreciate his ability to articulate them.

Napear is dead on: it happened over night
Wow! Just like that the team came together.
Thank you Mr. Ham.

As a 31 year old fan, there is a lot of stuff in here I didn’t know from when I was too young to care.

Thank u sir.

Yes this is awesome
Just curious

who did the music?

Uprock Audio

A young guy named John Glover did an all original score for the film.

And Jason Ross is the narrator.
I knew I recognized that voice.
was just going to say

“Sounds like someone using uprock.”

Absolutely true about Fargo and the railyard
I would have never thought to have the arena in the old railyard.

Thought the idea was crazy, but I see the merits now.

i hate that robert horry shot picture behind him
WEBBER FALL: DO NOT WANT TO WATCH
when chris went down

“it was the end of the era, i didnt know it. but i felt it” wow

Just saying

but curious how far off the projections on the sale tax revenue would have been off given the economy collapsed 4 years later.

If the railheads is worth 750 mil in 06

How much is it worth now? A billion?

Yards. Railyards.

Stupid iPhone.

We hit a recession since 06
Yeah

But that land is gonna be worth a gazillion dollars in about ten to fifteen years.

In retrospect

It may have been for the best that Q&R failed. Sactown ate it pretty hard in the recession and the sales tax may have failed to cover the loan.

On one hand a lot of the railyard and downtown stuff with Fargo was skipped (plus some of the stuff with the city and the Maloofs where Thomas walked out of the city council meeting)

on the other hand, insanely complicated and probably not necessary

Very difficult to capture nuances of political situations

It would have bogged big time.

Personal favorite and completely way too much

the whole Lou Bana plan

Sactown Royalty

holla

Tom Ziller
Missed it

I was making pizza. Damn it. Oh well I’m recording this.

Clearly showed his name with StR
pizza sounds bomb
Homemade

Whole wheat crust, pepperoni and mushroom.

wow even the dough homemade?
Homemade dough and sauce

Store bought pepperoni and mushrooms.

very impressive
HereWeStay was an amazing night for those of us who were fortunate to attend.
it really was a incredible experience

i had no voice the next day

lol - my throat was sore for several days
it was my first game in two years

and I used to go a ton when I was a kid so for me it was really surreal bizarre

The noise level was unbelievable
back between probably about 96 and until about 02 I would usually go to about 10 to 15 games a year

the last game in that period was the one game I went to in 01/02 which was Kings-Lakers. Anywho, I didn’t go to a game again until 07/08 and it was such a weird experience because I never had been to a game before that wasn’t a sell out. So for me, Here We Stay kind of felt like a time machine.

I got interested in the team in 2002

I never went to any of the the Kings games in that era. I didn’t really catch on to what was happening until when I watched the team in that playoff year. I had moved here from the Bay Area and just involved in other areas of my life at the time. It must have really been something for all you guys to be on that amazing ride. I hope this team will turn around and the team will do a repeat of that amazing era, but capture the ring.

yeah I actually wasn't living here from 00 to 08

but for the first four years was still in state and would visit family and friends

I can't leave this to watch the ga
Game*

I’ll see you in the game thread in half an hour. I’m staying here.

im with ya man

pass a slice of pizza this way

Technically the Kings do kinda mirror the community

especially considering we’re talking about about disposal incomes

Im not gonna lie

when grant and jerry were talkin rite there i damn near shed a tear myself

after lakers won

kobe went to phil jackson and said “what a fitiing way to end the era huh?”

i hate him

such a classy guy
/fisher on that other hand...

technically

considering it was the last game and Fisher was in charge of the Player’s Association right before a lockout everyone knew was coming, might not be what we thought it was.

never even thought of that

good point

That was so cool for those fans to be there
So wait, KJ doesn't think back to when he was a Cav?

I kid I kid

I am really curious if there is still a purchase of the Kings goin on in the background with the arena stuff

and whether it’s linked with some of the financing ideas going on within the tent

it’s the only thing that I can think of that would make this politicaly possible short of winning in court.

eh wish I could delete the "short of winning in court"

typing error!

I don't think the Maloofs or the NBA are ignorant of the Burkle-AEG connection

Plus, Darius Anderson as a living, breathing bridge from Burkle to the arena campaign. KJ nor anyone else is going to wave those things in people’s faces, but they’re there all the same.

Something new that I think is a huge game changer in regards to the March 1 “deadline” is the revenue sharing deal. Even without knowing the details, we know that the Maloofs are now in a better position to “stick it out” in Sacramento if there aren’t any immediately better alternatives, and/or it makes the team a lot more attractive to a prospective buyer.

How did we take Kenny Smith.

Before KJ. That is crazy.

Speaking of the whole "Chief Marketing" people thing

kind of funny how the ThinkBIG stuff has been here in Sac for so long and then when the season starts the NBA in it’s national campaign is all about “BIG” Things

Ha, never thought of that.

If Stern got that from us, he better be thinking BIG for Sacramento’s chances in this year’s lottery…

100% agree with Breton towards the end here
That was beautiful

James, Blake, Tobin thank you so much. Go kings!

Cant wait for Part 2

when we do get the new arena

ps yes that was awesome

great jobs and thanks. appreciate your efforts

Amazing documentary

My boys are walking around and chanting “Here We Stay!” This next month will be huge. Definitely time for another HWS night. I want to continue to take my four boys for years to come!

So why were no Lakers fans harmed in the making of this film???
That was wonderful!!

We have been going to the games since thay came to Sacto, we enjoyed the trip down memory lane. I hope they can be a contender again for a title. Thanks for making this film.

Good timing to show this documentary.

Valuable documentary, not only for Sacramento’s cause, but the cause for any small market that finds itself in a similar situation in the future. There is still a lot left. This story is not over.

Thank you.

It was a welcome break for me...

…especially from the GF’s emotional roller coasters, who is going through that time of the month. Yeah, I love her so, like the Kings. LOL

Amazing documentary

But, I lost it at the “here we leave segment”

Side note....

I’ve still been rocking the BeHeard in my front yard since it started!!
