Haven't used this thing in over a year, I think it shows in my deal.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7w3srgb
This one is pretty asinine.
Why the Knicks do it: The Knicks are experiencing some problems with Amar’e and as the playoffs have shown, he can be muscled down by an opposing team’s bigs. Here they get proven defensive stalwart Kevin Garnett, as well as a project big, JJ Hickson, who could thrive in D’Antoni’s system. They may need a draft pick from Boston to do this deal, but now they have a much more well-rounded starting lineup that excels on both sides of the court. Championship experience can’t hurt either.
Why the Kings do it: Well let’s just say it, losing Fish is the biggest pill to swallow here. But I think getting the all-time three point shooter will soften the blow. Dealing JJ Hickson in an Amar’e deal almost feels like coming full circle from his Cleveland days (even if it isn’t directly for Amar’e). I think that JJ will find much more success in New York than he will here, and Brandon Bass clears up any minutes that would open up with his departure. Last but certainly not least, the Tyreke for Rondo swap (since that is what it is broken down to). I love Reke, but I believe Rondo to be a much better fit for this team going forward. He doesn’t take too many shots, he is an excellent distributor, and is a pretty damn good perimeter defender (one of our great weaknesses). Overall, I think the Kings gain rather nicely in this deal.
Why the Celtics do it: It’s time to blow up the Big Three and Rondo is showing signs of frustration. This way, the team gets an all-star big to pair with Paul Pierce, and Tyreke Evans is an absolute stud in the making. The Celtics seem to still want to compete and I think this lineup would help them reload pretty quickly. The Celtics will become big time players in the upcoming draft upon acquiring Amar’e, and it is easy to see them dealing him or Pierce over for youth and a lottery pick. These guys may come away with the weakest package, but it can be justified if the situation in Boston is as bad as some are saying.
Schneezel - February 21, 2012
Can someone inform me if it is possible for Boston to amnesty Salmons following the season?
I know they couldn’t now because of the deadline but is that policy in effect for traded players as well?
Schneezel - February 21, 2012
No Boston would not be able to amnesty Salmons.
It’s only allowed to be used on current players on a team that were under contract at the time.
Crocoduck - February 21, 2012 via mobile
Well that sucks.
That could have been a good reason for Boston to do this whole thing haha.
Why haven’t we amnestied him yet if we can’t trade him then?
Schneezel - February 21, 2012
There's a deadline to use the amnesty during the offseason.
They would have to wait until this coming offseason to use it. Keep in mind who the owners are and that they’d still have to pay out the remaining salary, it just doesn’t count against the cap.
And they can trade him. But I’d recommend not even trying any trade ideas with him unless Tyreke or DMC were involved. Same goes for Garcia and Outlaw. They’re all unmovable on their own.
Crocoduck - February 21, 2012 via mobile
would be so down for this trade
Since'89 - February 21, 2012 via iPhone app
I would do this trade...
every time.
kwlarson - February 21, 2012
Marvin Williams for JJ Hickson
Both are frustrated with their current teams and roles. Both have been disappointing this season.
Kings take on a lot of salary for another SF, that would probably be an upgrade, but I’m not sure by how much. Thorton moves to the bench, which would help our crappy second unit.
I still would rather try to adress the SF spot this offseason but just throwing this out.
Crocoduck - February 21, 2012 via mobile
sure.
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
Last-second loss scenario
With 3.2 seconds to play and the Kings in-bounding at half-court, Coach Smart draws up a brilliant pick and roll play between Isaiah Thomas and Chuck Hayes.
However, upon setting the screen, Chuckwagon again dislocates his shoulder. Isaiah finds him under the hoop with the ball, but Chuck can do nothing but collapse to the court like a sandbag while clutching the ball in his good arm. Kings lose.
Oh, and an asinine trade. JT and Jimmer for Pekovic.
RJinFairOaks - February 21, 2012
2.4 seconds left
down by 1. Donte Greene inbounds the ball to Reke, who has a wide open 17 footer to win it. He throws the ball into the stands. Then he removes his face a la Mission Impossible and it turns out to be Kenny Natt. He runs away, Natting us over once again.

Salmons and Garcia to Bucks

I would love that deal
I think. Just means Jimmer gets less minutes.
Dub_TC - February 21, 2012
Less than 0?
caseycheesecake - February 22, 2012
Isn't Salmons' contract even worse than S-Jax?
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
I believe he has 1 more year
But it’s only like $4 million more overall. Capt Jack is clashing hard with Skiles though. It might be worth it just to get him off the team.
Allbenji - February 21, 2012 via mobile
if we are going to trade for a headcase, id much rather try to get beasley.
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
Stephen Jackson could put my fandom in hiatus
Shot-jacking, never happy, makes Tyreke look like a high percentage shooter, more trouble than he’s worth.
Baron Davis and Vince Carter are my least favorite scumbags, but Stephen Jackson is a close third.

caseycheesecake - February 22, 2012
Interesting list - why Vince Carter?
Charlieb - February 22, 2012
He blue flu'd his way out of Toronto
First, he holds a gun to Toronto’s head until they pay him bank. Then he half-asses it for them, demanding out and devaluing himself to the point where not only are the Raptors forced to trade him, but they basically have to give him away. Carter set that franchise back years. Baron Davis did the exact same thing when he was playing for the Hornets.
Scumbags, the both of them.
section214 - February 22, 2012
I am holding my rec'd hostage
betweentheeyes - February 22, 2012
Fortunately, neither one has a championship.
They’ll end up on the ever-growing list of career underachievers, in my opinion. Well deserved.
The Crown Royal Gentleman - February 23, 2012
Not only did he set the franchise back years, but some fans are still holding out hope that the franchise will be as good as it was when Vince was the franchise years back. I’m not good at analogies, so I’ll just say this, as a Torontonian, he screwed the city basketball-wise.
JuMowbray - February 29, 2012
3.5 seconds to go Kings up 1 with Miami in posession.
Tyreke reaches in and fouls Wade with 1.3 seconds to go and we’re in the penalty. Wade sinks both and we don’t get a shot off. Miami wins by 1.
StevenG - February 21, 2012
Anyone not named Tyreke or Demarcus for Jose Calderon
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
though Toronto would want a PG back so we would have to do a 3 team deal...
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
I heard Calderon is on the block

lietothegirls - February 22, 2012
Are you baiting me? :-)
Seriously though, what other guard to you recommend we trade for Calderon? Unless you think we could package Jimmer/Garcia/Hickson for him.
RJinFairOaks - February 21, 2012
i told you, i would trade anyone on the team not named Demarcus or Tyreke.
They can take their pick.
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
unfortunately i dont think we have anything they would want.
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
Honest question
And I ask this because I am not sure how I would answer: Calderon for Thomas? Calderon is due $9.8m this year (not adjusted) and $10.6m next year, while Thomas is due to earn less than $500k this year, less than $800k next year, and a team option for a 3rd year at under $900k.
section214 - February 21, 2012
i would make that trade.
but wouldnt Toronto want something more than cap space?
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
Don't know
Is Calderon and his slightly bloated contract worth anything more than cap space? Honestly, I don’t know.
section214 - February 21, 2012
i like his game.
its not an egregiously long contract.
9 assists a game.
can actually hit a mid-range shot.
can penetrate and set up teammates.
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
Tyreke could get 9 assists a game
If the guys he passed to made their open shots. Remember that stretch a couple weeks ago where he was averaging 8.5 a game?
LOUiECOG - February 28, 2012
And I'm not comparing the talent of the two, because Calderon is clearly better than Thomas right now
But Thomas may be the better value in relation to his contract. It’s closer than it appears at first glance.
section214 - February 21, 2012
ideally i would like to keep thomas as the backup.
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
I'd rather give up Jimmer than IT
I’m not saying I would. Just saying if you put a gun to my head & said “pick one” right now I’d pick IT
Allbenji - February 21, 2012 via mobile
well given the current makeup of the team, i could see that.
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
we have one PG amid our sea of inconsistent chuckers...
TrojanCBB - February 21, 2012
It would also make sense for Jimmer to move him a lot closer to home
As I’ve posted here before, if history is any judge then Jimmer is going to get homesick and will want to be a quick flight or reasonable drive from home.
RJinFairOaks - February 21, 2012
I agree
I’d deal him to NJ or NY
KevinSalvadori - February 21, 2012
So you want to keep Thomas because he is a better value (cheap) Section?
You sound like a Maloof.
StevenG - February 22, 2012
haha
TrojanCBB - February 22, 2012
Because so far with this team makeup, I think we already have a need for Thomas, Not as dire of a need for Jimmer
Widowwolf - February 22, 2012
Good one
No, the point is that you only have so much money to spend in relation to the salary cap (even less if you are a Malinda), so players that produce in excess of their contract can be the difference. Case in point is Miami. They spent virtually their entire cap on the big three, so their other players have to produce beyond their contract value in order for that team to win it all. To this point in the season, Norris Cole ($1m), Shane Battier ($3m), Udonis Haslem ($3.8m) and Udonis Haslem ($4m) have done exactly that.
So I’m not arguing Calderon vs. Thomas on talent. I’m just asking the question of who is delivering more value. And yes, the Kings have to pay up and over for A-list talent. So the question is, is Calderon that type of talent?
And these are all questions that I have no answers for. That is, Calderon could be a great addition to this team, even at his current price. But it appears to be a close call, either way.
section214 - February 22, 2012
Why grab for today with no thoughts for tomorrow?
Wilson Chandler for $9M/year x 4 years? Calderon for big money while you already have invested in your future with Evans, Thornton and to a lesser extent on money but on playing time – Fredette and Thomas.
To win an extra game or 4 this season? It doesn’t add up to me.The Kings are getting a lottery pick this season. Play your future players now, build their worth on the court today. Get a good draft pick in June.
betweentheeyes - February 22, 2012
If we don't add talent for Cousins by the offseason
Dude will explode
lietothegirls - February 23, 2012
I think we have enough starting talent, its the bench that really needs to get their act into shape..I think on a nightly basis we would roll with a IT, Thornton, Reke, JT Cuz lineup..no if half our bench only had a brain
Widowwolf - February 23, 2012
I'd really like to see another solid veteran talent added to the roster
And not of the John Salmons/Travis Outlaw ilk.
otis29 - February 23, 2012
We need a SF to send Marcus to the bench as the ultimate 6th man
lietothegirls - February 23, 2012
I agree with this..I think we have enough talent currently with the main 5 guys that Cuz shouldn;t have issues..If we could add back 2002 Peja, i really think we would be looking at playoffs right now
Widowwolf - February 23, 2012
We've been playing for the future
For 4+ years. How many more would be good for you? 7? 8?
Allbenji - February 24, 2012 via mobile
And if we stay terrible
We’ll get to keep those first rounder from the Hickson deal FOREVER! Yay!
otis29 - February 25, 2012
Good point - I'm sick of rebuilding too. We should win the Championship this year instead.
Or we could be realistic and accept that the rebuilding efforts thus far haven’t worked out as well as hoped, so we still need a significant talent upgrade to compete.
Charlieb - February 26, 2012
Can't believe anyone would entertain this idea of moving Isaiah....
If you want to evaluate on past performance, it is clear who is better. If you want to evaluate based on today and beyond, it is not clear at all, though Jose Calderon will likely get worse (age) and Isaiah will likely get better.
And to propose a trade a 23 year old PG for a 30 year PG, for a guy owed 15 million versus a guy due 0.5 million? To trade a potential budding star playing for peanuts for a serviceable (read: fundamental and boring) player on the wrong side of 30 years leading his team to a 10-23 record?
Yep, this belongs in an asinine thread.
And what is this talk of being close in value? Calderon makes 20 times the salary of Isaiah. There is nothing close in terms of relative value. Calderon is overpaid. Thomas is underpaid.
bench_blob - February 23, 2012
Thank you.
You said everything I wanted to. It is ridiculous to even consider trading a young, promising, productive and cheap player for an old, regressing, never part of a real winning team, expensive player.
DWeissbart - February 23, 2012
You're welcome.
Haven’t fans learned from the Salmons fiasco the trouble you ask for when you trade for 30+ players with bloated deals? Apparently not.
The reward is too low relative to the risk in going after players exiting their prime who rely on athleticism, which is almost every player in the league that doesn’t play center. The risk is a precipitous drop in production due to loss of half of step or more. Veteran players were overvalued by the Grim Reaper of Coaching because he could not coach any other type of player than a veteran who needed little to no guidance. Petrie bent over backwards to accommodate him and now is suffering the consequences of dead weight on his roster (Salmons and Outlaw).
I have an idea, Mr. Arm Chair GM says, let’s add to the dead weight! Brilliant! And lets get rid of the fastest and most exciting Kings player since J-Will because, after all he was the 60th pick in the draft, so he couldn’t be all that good, right?!? /sarcasm
Its borderline masochistic!!! I am not a masochist. I want Isaiah Thomas on my roster.

section214 - February 23, 2012
Asinine
Denver gets Evans and Hickson
Sac gets Lawson and Brewer
kangsfan - February 21, 2012
If IT keeps playing the way he's playing
Acquiring Lawson would be redundant.
Allbenji - February 21, 2012 via mobile
If we're talking DEN
I’d rather get Miller (a veteran that could slide nicely into our lineup and be a starter or backup) and Brewer, and maybe a pick, for Jimmer and Hickson. Jimmer fits exactly what they need- a cheap swing guard with solid outside shooting. Hickson becomes a stretch 5 (on a team with many) in case of injury to Mozgov, Koufos, or Nene during the playoff run.
In that case, I’d swing the deal to get Okafor from the Hornets for JT, Garcia, and Honeycutt unless there’s something bigger out there we can get involved in, possibly for Gasol.
New 5:
C: Cousins
PF: Okafor/Gasol
SF: Thornton? Greene?
PG: Miller/IT
SG: Evans
In that instance, all we need to do is solve our problem at the 3 in the offseason and amnesty Salmons (+resign Miller) and that’s a nice, versatile lineup and bench.
KevinSalvadori - February 22, 2012
Whoops
Forgot we acquired Brewer in deal above- slide him to the 3. Greene+Thornton to Bench.
KevinSalvadori - February 22, 2012
DEN/MIN/NOH Deals
I see us, potentially, being very active at the end of this asinine trade season. Here goes:
To DEN:
PG Jimmer Fredette
To SAC:
C Chris Andersen
DEN saves a ton in salary to sign Wilson C, also getting a swing guard they can use as a project once they let Miller go in FA. Kings get genuine blocking big for bench or spot starts.
To MIN:
SF/SG John Salmons or SG Marcus Thornton
PF/C Jason Thompson
2013 2nd Rd pick
To SAC:
SF Michael Beasley
PF Anthony Randolph
SF Anthony Tolliver
No brainer for us: we get a genuine scoring 3 with tons of upside yet and the ability to grow into his role here. He’s a huge question mark for many reasons (attitude, personal life, maturity, defense) but the benefits for us at this time outweigh the costs. For MIN, it’s a reunion between an underachieving SF/SG with a coach he played well under and a system that can ignore his dribble-happy ways, or they get Thornton as a young SG with instant scoring. Their 5 of Pekovic/Love/Johnson/Rubio/Barea or Salmons is strong, and puts them in a position with a great bench going forward. We take on two other headaches to help them sharpen and improve their depth.
To NOH:
SG Francisco Garcia
PF JJ Hickson
SF Tyler Honeycutt
To SAC:
PF Emeka Okafor
NOH does this deal to shed considerable salary with the expiring of JJ and the lower price points of Cisco and Tyler. NOH also needs depth badly and could like this deal for that reason. SAC gets a true 4 and improved size and interior D.
Sign Beno in offseason, who is not likely to re-up player option with MIL. If MIN takes Thornton, amnesty Salmons. Re-sign Donte. Or don’t.
NEW 5:
C: Cousins
PF: Okafor
SF: Beasley
PG: Thomas
SG: Evans
-———-6: Thornton, SG
7: Anderson, C
8: Hayes, PF/C
9: Udrih, PG/SG
10: Greene, SF
11: Draft Pick
12: Outlaw, SF
13: Whiteside, C
A much deeper, much older bench with incredible versatility. Match-up headaches all over the place for opposing teams. Huge starting 5 with the exception of Thomas, and a young core with major upside. The ability to play at a very high tempo. Higher salary all around, but our bigger contracts (Okafor, Andersen, etc.) all expire when our extensions would possibly be kicking in for DMC/Evans. If we don’t resign Greene, our Draft Pick could be a young SF to round off a 10-man rotation, and a great second unit.
KevinSalvadori - February 22, 2012
I would rather just trade JJ for Chris Anderson straight up.
Wonderchild - February 22, 2012
Beasley worries me
but if we didn’t have to give up much for him I’d keep it simple and try to land him . . . I guess.
He’s a legit threat to score and rebounds pretty well.

relatively low risk high reward move in my eyes and anything is an improvement at the SF position right now. I’m all for bringing in Beasley.

LAL/NOH, and MIN
Here goes:
LAL get:
SF John Salmons
PF Emeka Okafor
PG Jarret Jack
NOH get:
SF Luke Walton
PF/C JJ Hickson
PG Andrew Goudelock
SF Donte Greene
SAC gets:
PF Pau Gasol
WHY: LAL get a genuine starting PG from a team looking to rebuild, as well as a much cheaper, functional PF and a solid starting 3 for their system in Salmons. NOH gets a tremendous salary break, some 7m or so, and pieces for a very thin team, depth-wise. SAC gets to insert a real skilled, passing big man next to Cousins thanks to their insane cap room. Additionally, the Lakers get an improved starting 5 and keep the ability to amnesty Metta.
Trade 2:
MIN gets:
SG Marcus Thornton
SAC gets:
SF Michael Beasley
PF Anthony Randolph
WHY: Minnesota gets a starting SG for a position in which they have a surplus, SF. Additionally, they eliminate a major depth headache and free up a little salary heading into the offseason. Kings get a genuine 3 and get out of a long contract to Marcus to bring in a potentially great SF. Randolph worked with Smart in GS, where the two were close. Randolph presently can’t buy a minute in Minnesota.
Kings new 5:
C: Cousins
PF: Gasol
SF: Beasley
PG: Thomas
SG: Evans
-———-BENCH: Hayes, C/PF; Fredette, PG; Thompson, PF/C; Garcia, SG; Outlaw, SF; Randolph, PF; Whiteside, C; Honeycutt, SF
In the offseason, I’d ditch one of JT or Randolph for our incoming draft pick and either keep Garcia or amnesty him to pick up a cheaper option like Udrih, who may opt out.
KevinSalvadori - February 23, 2012
You lost me with "solid starting 3 for their system in Salmons".
Crocoduck - February 23, 2012
Seriously- have you seen them play?
It’s crazy- Salmons might work there. They actually have some semblance of ball movement, so he might not be as much of a sore thumb there. Plus, as bad as he’s been, he’s closer to a starting SF than Barnes.
That said, the only way I see them doing this is if they move Metta, I guess. That way, they can amnesty Walton or another similar contract. The only team I could see wanting him right now are teams like NJ or MIA, purely for depth. Not much to offer, though.
Their potential starting 5 of: Bynum, Okafor, Salmons, Jack, Bryant is better than the present one, though, in terms of interior defense, ball movement, and age. That would also greatly improve their bench, making it: Metta, Barnes, McRoberts, Murphy, Fisher, Blake, Kapono, Ebanks, and Morris (a possible waiver candidate). Not bad.
KevinSalvadori - February 23, 2012
PS
Barnes has been pretty damn good this year, but I feel like Salmons and his even passive D might be of interest to them. Plus, declining contract.
KevinSalvadori - February 23, 2012

raiderking21 - February 26, 2012
You guys are all crazy.
Granger has been in decline for the past 4 years, doesn’t rebound for a big wing, and shoots worse from the field than Evans does (about 38%). And you want to give up that much for him?
Also, Collison better than Thomas??? I think not. I would much rather have Thomas and his fire.

Kaman and one of the Hornets’ 1st rd picks for Tyreke and JT.
Kings use two 1st rd picks to go after a SG (Beal, Rivers, Lamb, etc) and a SF (Barnes, Gilchrist, Andre Roberson, Quincy Miller, etc). Improved shooting, spacing, movement off the ball, and athleticism is the goal.
With the 2nd rd pick….Minny’s Mbakwe, Mizzou’s Ricardo Ratliffe, and Michigan St.’s Draymond Green…get a rebounder to replace JT.

If Howard goes to Nets and Magic get about $4 million in space . . .
Jimmer & JJ Hickson for Ryan Anderson
Money works if Orlando has space. We get THE 3 we need. Orlando has to blow up the team if Howard leaves anyway, so getting Jimmer and JJ lets them have a couple of youngsters to start with (or trade for picks). Jimmer is rapidly becoming irrelevant and can be moved now that IT has moved to the starting PG spot, and JJ was a mistake to begin with. Can you imagine the increase in attendance with local phenom Anderson on the team, in a new arena, with Cuz in the middle, JT at the 4, IT at PG and Tyreke at the 2? We already have a shooter in Marcus T, so we don’t lose much by moving Jimmer. The Magoofs can afford to offer R. Anderson fair money [and he gets to play near his hometown].
I just really want Ryan Anderson on the Kings, so almost anyway we can make this happen that makes sense is OK with me.
Remember this is an asinine thread anyway.
Record_on_SUV - February 25, 2012
Anderson is a stretch 4, not a 3.
He is not athletic enough to play 3.
DWeissbart - March 1, 2012
Agreed, though he's really a legit 4 that can also stick the 3-ball
6-10 and now up to 240 pounds. Pulls down 7.5 boards a game, which is saying something when you share the floor with Dwight Howard. Capable defender that relies on good positioning. Not much of a shot blocker, though.
section214 - March 1, 2012
Don't get me wrong, I like Anderson a lot.
He also fits the bill next to Cousins: we either want a stretch 4, or an athletic shot-blocker. However, JT is playing well enough now. We really need to fix the 3 spot before searching for the perfect 4.
DWeissbart - March 1, 2012
I vote shot blocker
There was a time when I wanted the stretch 4 for Tyreke’s sake but our interior D is terrible and DMC has a decent jump shot already.
sac_faithful - March 3, 2012
Great offensive rebounder as well.
caseycheesecake - March 2, 2012
Even crazier, more asinine idea...
New Jersey gets: Dwight Howard (keeping him away from the [Redacted] is an implicit benefit for the Kings.
Orlando gets: Brook Lopez, Tyreke, JT, Salmons, and New Jersey’s lower 1st rd pick.
Kings get: Mehmet Okur, JJ Redick, New Jersey’s higher 1st rd pick, and Orlando’s 1st rd pick. As far as I’m concerned, the Orlando pick is “getting back” the protected pick to the Cavs, and the Kings can consider not resigning Hickson. With three 1st rd picks in a strong post-lockout draft, you can get a SG who can shoot and move w/o the ball (Beal, Lamb, etc.), an upgrade at SF (Barnes, Gilchrist, etc.), and a possible PF replacement for Hickson.
I’m not proposing to “rebuild again,” but to continue the current rebuild. In 2009, to use David Aldridge’s words, the Kings were in the “talent acquisition business”. You need talent for the product on the court, but you also need talent to trade for talent. If you’re building a house, and you have questions and doubts about the foundation, do you continue building, or do you reassess, and maybe even “fix” the foundation?
getPGwithbounce - February 27, 2012
So were trading Tyreke, JT, and Salmons...
for Okur (who sucks), Redick, a low lottery pick, and a non-lottery pick?

I've never even scratched comment of the week
good luck!
Seriously, how many games have we lost this year and last on just not being very smart b-ball IQ wise?
(sigh)
lietothegirls - February 28, 2012
wow this is the most asinine trade thread ever
cant believe poeple seriously want to trade tyreke, our roy, our 20-5-5 guy, our 22 year old LEARNING guard of the future. Tyreke is a smaller version of lebron and one day he will prove it to you, mark my words.
CousinsEvansDUO - February 27, 2012
Let's asinine
Three way:
Darren Collison, Tyler Hansbrough and Indiana’s pick to the Suns
Steve Nash, Marcus Thornton and JJ Hickson to the Pacers
Danny Granger and Channing Frye to the Kings.
Why for the Kings:
Objectively, the Kings look like a dumping ground for old salary in this trade. However, Granger, while having an off year, is a two-way former All-Star who would give the Kings small forward they desperately want. This man can defend, shoot the three and offer Sac a third scoring option comparable to Thornton. Granger is four years older than Thornton, but still in his prime at 28. An opening lineup of Thomas, Evans, Granger, Hayes and Cousins is defensively formidable without losing the offensive energy brought by Thornton.
Frye seems like a a poison pill, but adds another three-threat to spread the floor for Evans and Cousins.
For the Suns:
Collison gets a Nash-replacement tryout. Hansbrough gives them more energy off the bench. Sarver saves money. Phoenix fans get to see Nash on a contender and have another reason to hate Sarver. Everyone’s happy.
For the Pacers:
The Pacers might be in financial heaven now, but have to pay Hibbert and Hill next year. Thornton gives them someone to absorb the scoring punch of Granger while keeping them financially flexible. George can get a try-out at small forward, where every pegs him. Hickson replaces Hansbrough and can catch lobs from Nash. Nash can put Hill and Stephenson through point guard camp for a couple of years. And in the meantime Nash, Thornton, George, West and Hibbert can scare the contenders in the East.
TitleChaser - February 27, 2012
Fuck Channing Frye
Sacramento hater
elSAVinator - February 28, 2012
Here's a trade...
How about we trade THIS…
FOR THIS!!!!!!
TrojanCBB - February 28, 2012
I would do this 20 times a week!
Widowwolf - February 28, 2012
Love This Trade would do it in a heartbeat
Howard Nevens IV - March 1, 2012
Is that a model of what the new Arena is gonna look like, cause I haven't seen that picture before
CousinsCuz - March 1, 2012
Yes
Widowwolf - March 2, 2012
No we already have Hassan Whiteside
kurtis22 - March 2, 2012
Maybe Utah wants it's Saviour
Lets trade Jimmer and JJ for Milsap!
bcorz - February 28, 2012
Why not trade
Jimmer/JT/JJ for Milsap/Harris? Now i’ve been a Reke at the PG fan forever but why not have a kid who can shoot and pass give to him at the foul line so he can take it in? and Jimmer = Jazz to the max
shadowchicken - February 28, 2012
Where in the Samuel Hades is the new one?
Jimmer for Paul Pierce.
Tom Ziller - February 29, 2012
jimmer for that cripple steph curry.
TrojanCBB - February 29, 2012
It would suck to get rid of Jimmer this quickly
But I’d make this trade in a heartbeat.
otis29 - February 29, 2012
since Rondo is on the block
Reke for Rondo?
chan011 - March 1, 2012
Sign me up
I have a feeling we’d have to give Boston a bit more though.
otis29 - March 1, 2012
I had to think about it...
but I’ll pass. 20-5-5 is something I can’t get out of my mind…this guy is our SG. If we did this deal, we would need SF AND a SG instead of just the SF we need now. I like IT and think we can find a Beno type to cover the slack there. I’d like to see the Kings make a run at Deng. Maybe Hickson & Salmons? I don’t like anything that loses either Reke or DMC unless were talking Durant or something equally crazy.
Noble_Bloodlines - March 1, 2012
Hickson and Salmons for Deng? Wow.
Crocoduck - March 1, 2012
Well, they'd have to throw in a draft pick...
section214 - March 1, 2012
hahahaha
TrojanCBB - March 1, 2012
Obviously picks would be involved in any trade
but you cant do those in the trade machine.
Noble_Bloodlines - March 3, 2012
I'm thinking Reke/Hickson/and a second rounder is decent value for Rondo
Hickson still has to have value, considering that he used to be good only 10 months ago.
Neil Manich - March 5, 2012
You want asinine? I'll give you asinine. . .

LLcoolRay - March 3, 2012
Also
Why Kings do it;
Umm, duh.
Why Magic do it;
ARE YOU SERIOUS, THEY GET HASSAN WHITESIDE, JOHN SALMONS AND JJ HICKSON FOR THE LOWLY PRICE OF DWIGHT HOWARD!? TRADE OF THE CENTURY!!!
Why Boston does it;
This one I actually could see them wanting. Tyreke and Chuck Hayes for Rondo is actually a pretty good deal imo
LLcoolRay - March 3, 2012
just heard
Apparently Josh Smith wants a trade, anyone willing to give up Reke or MT for him, esp MT. Like the idea of a:
I.Thomas
Evans
Josh Smith
DMC
Chuck Hays
Gives us a nice balance of O and D, and hopefully we still get a lottery pick. Now I’m saying this without knowing the terms of Josh’s contract and we would have to add players if it was Reke, not sue that’s worth it.
