R.E. Graswich, the chief of staff for Mayor Kevin Johnson, tweeted today from KJ's weekly Q&A with the media that the mayor said he will attend All-Star Weekend in Orlando later this month to speak with NBA commissioner David Stern about Sacramento's plan to build a new arena. Graswich also said that KJ called the city "close" to a term sheet with the league and, presumably, AEG.
But even if there is buy-in from the league and AEG, there remains one critical piece: the parking lease funding plan. The City Council is expected to vote on that matter on February 14. Stay tuned for info on how you can help.

yaboyrafa - February 7, 2012

section214 - February 7, 2012
Do you stay up all night
thinking up these witticisms?
Bill2 - February 7, 2012
I stay up half the night
Thus, you get half-witticisms.
section214 - February 7, 2012
But that is fast thinking
Not half-fast

Anyone mind explaining a term sheet?
I’ve heard it thrown around but don’t have a good grasp of what it is and entails

I'm sure it couldn't hurt...
to have Musselman turn it into Powerpoint presentation.
RampagingMice - February 7, 2012
What could possibly go wrong?

"I coulda had a V-8."

Nice
section214 - February 8, 2012
Hey, while there can we ask him to void all trades and free agent signings of Dwight Howard that aren't with Sacramento?
wallywagon11 - February 7, 2012
Screw Howard we have the CUZ!!
kromeace - February 7, 2012
I would love a DMC Howard combo.
No one would stop that unless they have a time machine to form a big man combo of a young Shaq and young Hakeem.
SharkKings49 - February 7, 2012
Other teams would kill us on 2nd chance points
Howard and Cousins would be knocking the ball out of each others’ hands going for boards.
#12Pick...who? - February 7, 2012
We'd need a true shooter
No room in the paint with that combo. I’d give up Tyreke and one of the other bigs for DHoward – assuming the extension of course.
lietothegirls - February 7, 2012
I support this request.
Tom Ziller - February 7, 2012
I'll second that support
rstewartwest - February 7, 2012
Hopefully
Isaiah and Jimmer will be there too playing against eachother in the rook/soph game in the new format putting on a shooting clinic. Cousins will of course be the MVP.
13uppercut - February 7, 2012
Pathos -
Fredette gets selected for the game, where he gets a DNP-CD.
section214 - February 7, 2012
The Rookie Soph game format has changed this year
There will be a ‘draft’ and the teams will be mixed with both Rookies and Sophs.
Barkley and Shaq will be doing the drafting
lietothegirls - February 7, 2012
I need to read comments more carefully (sigh)
lietothegirls - February 7, 2012
Yes and thats why
I thought it would be cool if Jimmer and Isaiah were on opposing teams. Cousins will Obviously be there but you never know about the rooks. SHaq and Barkley aren’t looking at Sac too often. I beleive I read the NBA will decide whose in the pool. Isaiah might make it cuz his name is Isaiah Thomas and Shag and Barkley are Tards (not to be confused with retards, I’m not insensitive).
13uppercut - February 7, 2012
Didnt Shaq pick Tyreke as an all star reserve last week?
Wonderchild - February 7, 2012
Seriously?
That’s odd.
caseycheesecake - February 7, 2012
It's all finally coming together
I like it. Feb. 14th will be huge of course.
Aykis16 - February 7, 2012
Dear City Council,
On Valentine’s Day, vote Wiggum.

wallywagon11 - February 7, 2012
Everyone better come out
Take your significant other to dinner downtown after ;)
edm7 - February 7, 2012
I got a 6:30 dinner at Iron Steaks with my pregnant girlfriend
But I’ll see if I can talk her in to going after, how successful I’ll be remains to be seen. But I will send emails to every member of the council!
KingsFanInPortland - February 7, 2012
We will definitely do some kind of email drive after Thursday, before Tuesday
edm7 - February 7, 2012
The Plan is going according to ... plan
(crap I said that wrong)
wallywagon11 - February 7, 2012
Johnson sure seems confident the council will pass the plan

One by one, the hurdles have fallen.
We’re not there yet, but we’re getting there. Who would have thought this was possible last March?
